myGeoAdventure Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We recognise that transparency is an ongoing responsibility so we will keep this privacy statement under regular review. This privacy statement was last updated on 24th May 2018.

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), the data controller is Global Digital (Community) Ltd Limited of Strathard Hub, Discovery Centre, Main St, Aberfoyle FK8 3UQ

myGEOAdventure is a product of Global Digital (Community) Ltd and does not use or disclose to third parties user data gathered from the myGeoAdventure API.

We may collect and process the following data about you:
* Information that you provide by filling in forms on our service. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our service, subscribing to our service, posting Adventures or other material, or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion sponsored by Global Digital (Community) Ltd Limited, and when you report a problem with our service.
* If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
* We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
* Details of transactions you carry out through our service and of the fulfillment of your orders.
* Details of your visits to our service including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes, to help us identify when to share any of our revenue with you, or otherwise and the resources that you access.
* Contact details, such as your name and email address.
* Any alias details you provide, such as your username.
* If you decide to become an Adventure builder on the site, and make your Adventures available to the public on a fee-paying basis, we will collect and store sufficient details to be able to process payments to you using available payment methods.
* Demographic information, such as your date of birth, address and postcode.

IP addresses and cookies
We may collect information about your devices/computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our user's browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

Where we store your personal data
The data that we collect from you will be stored when most beneficial in the European Economic Area ("EEA").  To help process your personal data for the purposes described in this policy, Global Digital may entrust third party processors (“Third Parties”). Global Digital has contractual agreements in place with all the contracted Third Parties it works with in order to ensure your personal data is used only for the provision of the contracted services and in a manner that is consistent with this policy. Examples of Third Parties include CRM and marketing automation providers.

In instances where personal data is processed by Third Parties outside of the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information to the same or an equivalent level as would be found in UK and EU data protection legislation. The safeguards we use include:

(1) Ensuring the country is the subject of an EU adequacy decision

(2) Ensuring the company is a member of an adequate legally-binding scheme such as EU-US Privacy Shield

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our service, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our service; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Uses made of the information
We use information held about you in the following ways:

We may also use your data, to provide you with information about goods and services which may be of interest to you and we may contact you about these by the means you agree to by selecting tick boxes on data collection forms.

Disclosure of your information
We may disclose your personal information to any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
* In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
* If Global Digital (Community) Ltd Limited or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
* If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Global Digital (Community) Ltd Limited, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Your rights
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data. Individuals’ rights and how to exercise them
Individuals have certain rights over their personal data and data controllers are responsible for fulfilling these rights.  Where we decide how and why personal data is processed, we are a data controller and include further information about the rights that individuals have and how to exercise them below.
Access to personal data

You have a right of access to personal data held by us as a data controller.  This right may be exercised by emailing us at data.protection@globaldigicomm.co.uk. We may charge for a request for access in accordance with applicable law.  We will aim to respond to any requests for information promptly, and in any event within the legally required time limits (currently 40 days).

Amendment of personal data
To update personal data submitted to us, you may email us at data.protection@globaldigicomm.co.uk or, where appropriate, contact us via the relevant website registration page or by amending the personal details held on relevant applications with which you registered. When practically possible, once we are informed that any personal data processed by us is no longer accurate, we will make corrections (where appropriate) based on your updated information.
Withdrawal of consent
Where we process personal data based on consent, individuals have a right to withdraw consent at any time.  We do not generally process personal data based on consent (as we can usually rely on another legal basis).  To withdraw consent to our processing of your personal data please email us at data.protection@globaldigicomm.co.uk or, to stop receiving an email from a Global Digital marketing list, please click on the unsubscribe link in the relevant email received from us.
Other data subject rights
This privacy statement is intended to provide information about what personal data we collect about you and how it is used.  As well as rights of access and amendment referred to above, individuals may have other rights in relation to the personal data we hold, such as a right to erasure/deletion, to restrict or object to our processing of personal data and the right to data portability.  Some of these rights will only be available from 25 May 2018.
